Dr. Lauren Tessier practices Naturopathic Medicine in Williston, Vermont. She attended Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Premedical Sciences and Health Psychology.
She received her Naturopathic Doctorate at the prestigious Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. After returning to New England, Dr. Tessier established a successful integrative health clinic in central Vermont. After a few years of practicing Naturopathic Functional & Integrative Medicine, Dr. Tessier noticed that there were some cases that were not responding as well to treatment as typically expected—especially the cases with a history of exposure to mold and water damaged buildings.
Dr. Tessier was motivated to help these patients find improvement in their health and thus she began searching for solutions to these curious, stubborn and debilitating health complaints. After studying numerous mold illness protocols, Dr. Tessier was directed to the research and work of Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker.
The Shoemaker protocol was the only protocol that took the time to connect the dots among genetics, biochemistry, and immunology—all passions of Dr. Tessier. Plus, there was empirical research to support the protocol, which is imperative to the safety of clients and to the success of treatment.
After implementing the protocol in many cases with great results, Dr. Lauren Tessier chose to become a Shoemaker Certified Physician. Dr. Tessier has taken great time and energy to develop a practice based solely on the treatment illness developed as a result of exposure to mold and water damaged buildings.
In addition to helping many clients, Dr. Tessier hopes to advance the application of the Shoemaker protocol, as well as bring more public attention to CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) and mold related illness.
