Genevieve Lamancusa, FNP-C Proficiency Partners Diplomate

Genevieve is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, qualifying her to diagnose and treat individuals in all stages of life. She began her career in health care by working for a homecare organization in Boulder, Colorado, providing care for the elderly and disabled in their homes. Since that time, she has logged over 15 years of experience in various areas of patient care (Certified Nurse Aid in a nursing home in Boulder, Registered Nurse at Boulder Community Hospital, and family practice as a Nurse Practitioner). Highlights include clinical rounds with infectious disease, women’s health, and various primary care clinics. Genevieve also worked in a busy primary care clinic in Montrose before coming to Roots and Branches where she has worked for the last 5 years, primarily with people with complex health scenarios.
In addition to her clinical experience, Genevieve also has a prolific academic background that includes a Master of Science in Nursing from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the prestigious University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and three bachelor’s degrees (a BS in business marketing, a BA in environmental studies, and a BS in nursing). Genevieve has also received training from the Institute of Functional Medicine.
Although Genevieve appreciates and utilizes her in-depth training in conventional medicine (drug for symptom management), her preference is discovering the deeper underlying causes of a patient’s illness. That is what led her to Dr. Shoemaker and the Surviving Mold community. After years of seeing patients with multi-system, multi-symptom illness and not knowing how to diagnose and treat them, there was finally an answer. Genevieve is delighted to be part of this community of talented health care providers and to be able to serve patients with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome.

In addition to bringing a rigorous approach to diagnosing the underlying cause, Genevieve loves getting to know her patients and holistically understanding their experience. She believes health care is a special partnership between the provider and the patient. Her passion is helping people on their journey to restoring wellness. For Genevieve, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing people heal.
In addition to partnering with patients experiencing complex health care scenarios, Genevieve offers Primary Care Services including, but not limited to, annual exams (male and female exams), acute care (sore throats, UTI’s, sinus infection, asthma), bioidentical hormones, and mood disorders.

In her free time, Genevieve enjoys meditation, hiking and climbing outdoors, and spending time with her husband of 17 years.
